Modeling systems will slice and dice the data sets

Watershed models enable relatively accurate predictions of the consequences of various changes in land use and land cover patterns on downstream water quantity and quality.

Nutrient flow models enable predictions of the likelihood of eutrophication in watersheds subjected to increasing nitrogen or phosphorous inputs.

Combined climate/ecosystem models enable improved forecasting of the likely ecosystem effects of climate change.
